Very polite and professional.

I was speaking with the wife of the owner and she told me about the stampede of orders when they got slammed and had to shut down the site

She said her and the Hubby were up from 5am to 11:30 pm Packing orders ......I think she sent somebody out to fecth them something to eat. She has never seen anything like this is all her years.

An AK is an AK. Some have air conditioning, antilock brakes and a CD player, some don't, but any AK will still do the job.

Fit & Finish on the Bulgarians are Top Notch. :ok:

The AES-10B (RPK) is a longer range squad weapon and fun to shoot......but it's not designed to be a battle rifle.

Most RPK's also feature the Heavy Barrel & Heavier receiver designed as a light machine gun. IMO those barrels & receivers will last a bit longer and handle more abuse.

Yugo RPK's are the best so this one featured above is mid to low-grade as far as the long barrels go.

Those are worth premium with a milled receiver. If you ever decide to sell it, be sure to ask twice whatever the AK going rate is.

I've seen 'em on GunBroker listed in the $1400 - $1600 range easy.

How much of a price jump is that? 30%? I wonder where the price hike is happening... from the importer to the distributor or the distributor the buyer, or both....

AKs are just simply junk....and I own a few. They are o.k. for a simple spray and pray gun out to perhaps 200 yards...beyond that....to inaccurate... They are nice if you enjoy the look of the gun and want to be able to chuck a big magazine into a fairly high powered gun.....

But, for not much more you can get a real quality gun like an AR-15.

Even better - I'm a M1 Garand fan. Now, that is a top quality rifle. I would imagine that if they were to produce malitary quality brand new M1 Garand today...the cost would be over $1000.

There is simply no quality comparison between an AK and and AR-15 or a M1A or a M1 Garand. One is junk the other is quality.

Now, a Ruger Mini 30......they are very nice as compared to and AK.

All that said, I have a few....primarily because when i was buying them I could get cases of ammo for less than $90.....and I bought a ton at the time. I remember it was costing me about 8 cent a round back in the early 90's.....I could not purchase a decent 30 cal bullet for reloading for less than 10 cents...and i was getting fully assembled 7.62x39 for 8 cents!

If you just love the 7.62x39....buy a Ruger Mini-30....skip the overpriced AK junk.

But you have so many better options for about the same price. Have you ever looked at a Ruger Mini-14 / Mini-30? Do you own a decent AR-15?

Because the military and police both use .223 as a standard round....that should be choice #1 if you expect government failure going forward. Get and AR get a Mini-14.

Want a real rifle.....get a 30.06 M1 Garand. That has to be the baddest assed rifle ever built.....and you can carry a ton of ammo without the need for a lot of money spent of magazines....the 8 shot en-bloc clip is awesome. Shove it in the top and good to go. Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang-PING!.....shove in another one.....

30.06 has 2X the energy of a 7.62x39....and about 3X to 5X the effective range....you can hit shit with a good gun.

You are paying way too much for that AK junk.

While compared to prices from a couple of years ago, you did pay a little much but then everyone is paying a premium on everything now. Arsenal AK's are generally known to be some of the finest ever imported, especially the earlier ones with the Yugo kits. The milled receiver while heavier will last forever. Personally I prefer M-14's but that was before I recently sold the last of my guns at the local loophole....I mean gun show. TA and Mountain Man have got me thinking about those Saiga 12's but then I'd probably just end up selling it right away also.:565:

That is what I heard too but see the AR that classic arms is selling by them? They claim they have changed at least on this one AR? hmmmm $679?? Almost want to try one but it is probably too good to be true

I respect that but my real world is not so tortuous. I shoot at the range. Perhaps someday a looter in my wifes veggie garden is a possibility the way the world is going but even then I will not be torture testing much.:ok:

How does that work when a FFL is required to buy? Can a South Carolina FFL holder ship it to one in Utah (for example) if the guns are legal in that state?

Junk is a relative term. When you're shooting for your life and you have to bang the AR every other round to get it to feed then you feel like you're shooting junk. AK's liked to be dropped in the mud, used as a cane, and drug behind your Hummer. They fire because they like mud. It's their lubricant.

Excuse me? Century AK's are guns too. They have feelings just like any other weapon. Are you the type that's hates ugly children? You'd be paying 2000k a gun if it wasn't for Century's cheap AK's....they've driven the price down. The bulk of the AK's in this country are century's. The bulk of the kits that the big money ak guys build with are century's. Bow down and thank God for them.

Excuse me...shoot the gun when you buy it. If it works then shut up and enjoy the fact you saved a ton of money and have a reliable gun (not a handcrafted weapon..if that's what you expect for 375.00 then you need your head examined)....if not send it back.....otherwise spend 1800.00 for another one if you can get it....

I've got expensive guns that were f'd. If it ever comes to the time they shut down century I'm going to grind the whiners into the ground. and yes you will be whining when there's nothing at a terrible price. right now there's nothing...and the prices are just starting to go up.

I own BOTH the AK and AR platforms and out of the two, my fav is my CENTURY YUGO AK (m70b1) which is actually a well built rifle that shoots well out to 200 yds. I group 10" groups @ 200yds with open sights.

If I need to reach out past 200yds I will deploy the AR in 308.

Which one would I put my life on? The AK without any doubt.

I have NEVER had one issue with the AK. I've had the AR fail to chamber properly due to not letting the bolt slam hard enough. (which could happen in a combat situation)

Anyhow, both are great weapons and loads of fun at the range. BOTH should be well maintained and you shouldn't run into anything major.

The AK is once again proving itself in the middle east at this moment.

I bought that Tactical one from Classic - No mag problems whatsoever with mine. :wink:

I have a 'hunch' that the guns built with the extra options / tactical use better WASR's from the group as in a hand-select rifle........but either way, I got a really good one and I'm very pleased with it !
